Goals and plans for therapy will be developed during the first appointment with your therapist to ensure both child and family goals are identified and a holistic approach to therapy can take place. OT with Tahls’ approach to therapy aims to be holistic and one that utilises an evidence-based approach to therapy. Therapy can be delivered in home, school, childcare or clinic based locations.

How do our services work?

Our Services

  • Child with one hand on top of the other

    Fine Motor Skills

Tahls focuses on developing the coordination of small muscles, particularly in the fingers and hands. These skills are essential for children’s independence in daily activities such as feeding, eating, and dressing.

  • Child holding soccer ball behind head about to throw it

    Gross Motor Skills

Tahls helps enhance whole-body movement using large core-stabilizing muscles. These skills are vital for everyday activities like sitting upright, standing, and coordinating actions such as throwing, catching, and kicking.

  • Mum pushing newborn baby knees up to their chest

    Infant Massage

Tahls teaches parents massage strokes and techniques that strengthen the bond between baby and parent/caregiver. This practice not only relaxes muscles and promotes physical health but also supports emotional and psychological development, fostering a deeper family connection.

  • Two children playing a game together

    Cognitive Skills

Tahls focuses on developing essential cognitive skills, including attention, memory, thinking, and problem-solving. These progressively built learning skills are vital for everyday life and overall development.

  • Two women talking with one holding a baby

    Parent Education & Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Tahls collaborates with families, schools, and allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy, essential for a child's success. Therapy sessions also offer parents valuable learning opportunities to integrate therapeutic skills into daily routines.

  • Child holding teddy bear and sitting in wheelchair, smiling at camera

    Equipment Prescription

Tahls collaborates with specialist equipment consultants to assess clients and prescribe the best-fitting equipment, promoting increased participation in their daily lives.

  • Woman holding baby in the air with logo DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention)

    DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention)

Tahls utilises Dynamic Movement Intervention as a manual therapy technique to make rapid and long lasting changes to a child's brain to help children reach their gross motor milestones.

  • Teen holding big red block, handing it to woman he is sitting across from

    AHA (Assisting Hand Assessment)

Tahls utilises the Assisting Hand Assessment to measure how a child who has unilateral disability uses their affected hand. We offer this assessment + report or this assessment +/- report and ongoing intervention.
